Accessorize!
This season (and the last, and the next) are going wild with accessories.
Brooches, belts, chains, bags, are everywhere, in bunches like juicy
grapes in jewel colors and shiny metals and sparkly stones. Take
advantage.
The right accessory can make the dullest outfit come alive. A plain white
t-shirt and jeans becomes a thing of style with a chain belt and dangling
tassel. Add a sparkly pair of earrings to a skirt and mary janes. Trim
your daily coat with a collar of faux fur.
You'll need to exercise your imagination, and personalize your style. Do
it with style by sticking to a few TYPES of accessories. Don't wear a
gaudy bag and a bunch of brooches and a big hat and a scarf and a glittery
shoe with bows on it.
The rules:
- limit yourself to a theme. If it's purple, try to go with different
shades of the same dark colors, with some green thrown in. Don't mix a
million colors
- cluster accessories together where they can be seen. a bunch of
brooches, a brooch pinned on a scarf, a few dangly chain necklaces, a row
of rings.
- be careful when you mix and match prints. as with any clothing.
- wear things in new ways. try a pin in your hair, or a ring on a chain.
fasten things with earrings and pin bows with flowers on shoes. wear
scarves as skirts and bags on belts.
- explore all your options. don't stick with the usual - you have a lot of
accessories at your disposal.
