How to wear a tshirt #11
Well, time to show off those shoulders. An old tshirt will help you do just that. It's pretty easy and will fit just right.
Materials:
tshirt
scissors
needle and thread or sewing machine
elastic, drawstring, or ribbon
safety pin
1. Cut the tshirt off just under the armpits. Save the top for another project.
2. With the bottom tube, turn it inside out, then fold back all around until you have a loop going the whole way around.
3. Sew in place, leaving a one-inch gap in the middle of the front (or back, your choice).
4. Cut elastic to one inch tighter than the width just above your chest. For ribbon, cut around chest plus one foot (for tying).
4. Thread elastic, drawstring, or ribbon through the hole with a safety pin. Sew up most of the gap, allowing ribbon to peek through (not necessary for elastic.
5. Turn shirt inside out, then wear. Pull ribbon to desired tightness, and tie in a bow.
Variations: you can alter the opening to the side or back. You might also want to tighten the shirt fit before folding back and sewing. You can also add a second piece of elastic at the waist or below the chest to make a cinched top or a baby-doll top.
