Three looks This spring, fashion brings you easy pieces you can mix and match. Here are three outfits you can make with stuff you probably already own:
1. Preppy chic at Lacoste
Pull on one of those old comfy 80s sweaters over shorts. Candy colors and pastels are great for spring. Slip on some Keds and slick your hair back with a headband, and you're ready for tennis, or lunch. Keep your makeup natural.
2. Black and white at Chanel
Strong contrasts can be dramatic for an evening out. If you don't have a fancy dress like this, pick a printed skirt and black and white layers on top (a vest with a longsleeve shirt). Keep the look sleek and add boots in black, white, or a neutral. Keep your hair and makeup minimal so that the print and the shape take center stage.
3. The printed dress at Anna Sui
Don't underestimate the value of a good dress. A seemingly boring matronly one can look striking when it's all you wear with just tiny sandals. Find one that accents your own shape, but don't be put off by prints you might dismiss as too girly. Look for lace, eyelet, and embroidery. Slicked back hair and a manicure are all you need.
