How to wear a t-shirt #10
This issue will help you show off your toned spring arms but still beat that lingering chill. Simply use an old pair of colored hose of tights to replace the arms!
Materials:
tshirt
scissors
colored hose or tights (your choice of color)
pin or seam ripper
needle and thread or sewing machine
1. Using the seam ripper or a safety pin, remove the sleeves from the tshirt (they can be used to make a bag, see archives).
2. Cut the hose feet off. Then cut hips off at an angle from the middle and up outwards so that you have two pieces that narrow towards one end. These are the sleeves.
3. Turn t-shirt and hose inside out and sew together, with the pointy top of the hose towards the shoulder and the lower end at the armpit.
4. You can cut and sew the ends of the "sleeves" or fold them back if they're too long.
Now you have a standard tshirt with hose sleeves. Try coordinating colors - white tights with a white tee, black with black, or even interesting colors and patterns. To get a better fit, measure your shoulder and arms and trim the tshirt accordingly before sewing on the hose.
