Jenny was just starting to enjoy the new found status of being a IM. Of course she didn't like it much that she was in this situation but now that she has no choice she is kind of enjoying it. After all Parkovitch put it, "A Penitatas owes a debt to society that they are re-paying. But an Innocentata is owed a great debt by society, and we must repay it as best we can." And according to the Judge a IM is not only owed a great debt by society but is owed the right to live a good life with whatever life the person has left.
Mom walked into Jenny's room. "Hi mom." Jenny was laying on her tummy on her bed relaxing and watching the holovision. Something Jenny hasn't really had the chance to enjoy till now. Jenny has a double bed.
"Hey hun." Mom sits next to jenny on her bed. "I'm sorry about rejuving you." Mom looked sad.
Jenny sat up next to Mom. "Did I ever tell you who my best friend was?" MOm shakes her head. "Kate my real sister was my best friend. We went to parties together. We played with each other. We grew up together. And when she was dying all I wanted to do was put her in the rejuvenator on full blast even though I knew she wouldn't be the same person. Or worse never forgive me and when she died I left it be. Do you know what the difference between what you did and what I almost did?"
"No."
"I have a chance. Kate didn't. As bad as it is to be 5 again I'm glad you saved me." Jenny hugs her mother.
"Thank you." They hug each other.
