| Are valid in 2nd class on all regional transport of the bahn (IRE, RE, RB, and S-bahn) in that Land. Are also valid for all transport (U-bahn, Trams, Buses) of most Verkehrverb�nde within the Land. Are valid for up to 5 people traveling together independent of age, or for parent(s) or grandparent(s) with all of their children or grandchildren under 15 years. Sometimes a discount single ticket is also available. Are valid from 9 AM on weekdays, or midnight (12 AM) weekends and holidays, until 3 AM the following morning. Can be purchased online from the Bahn Shop (in German only), at all Bahn (red/white/blue) ticket automaten in Germany, at Nahverker (blue/white) ticket automaten within that Land, sometimes at a ticket automat for the local Verkehrsverbund, or over the counter for an extra 2 EUR. | Transport within an individual Land is governed by an enterprise set up for that purpose within the state. Each of the L�nder offers a discount day ticket. These tickets, which cost between �24 and �29,50, can be a considerable savings if you a willing to travel in 2nd class on regional trains. These L�nder tickets: |
| Verkehrverb�nde Further, within Germany there are transit districts, or Verkehrverb�nde, to govern transport around a city or regions. Most of the Verkehrverb�nde also offer group day tickets at a considerable savings. These tickets can normally be purchased only in that Verkehrsverbund from automaten of the Verkehrsverbund, from Nahverkehr (blue/white) automaten, from ticket counters, or on the buses. In some cases, where there is a transition area, such as W�rzburg, which is in the Main-Franken Verkehrsverbund, but the area is shared with the Rhein-Neckar Verkehrsverbund, you might have to buy the RNV day ticket in the DB Reisezentrum. Although normal Bahn train tickets are checked and cancelled on board by a conductor, the Verkehrsverb�nde often sell tickets that must be cancelled before or when boarding the vehicle. These tickets can be identified by the words "Hier entwerten" printed on the end where they must be cancelled. There are cancelling machines as you enter an S/U-bahn station and on the streetcars.
