A little about Reiki
Reiki (ray-key) is a long-forgotten Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki is a powerful, but gently hands-on-healing approach to clearing and balancing energy and the bodiesEchakras. Dr. Usui Mikao of Japan discovered Reiki in the 1900's. Dr. Usui studied techniques of healing to begin with, but while meditating and fasting for twenty-one-days on Mt. Kurama, Japan, Dr. Usui was blessed with the knowledge to heal using energy from God, or the Higher Self to heal without depleting his own energy. With special hand positions and secret symbols, Dr. Usui possessed the ability to transfer Reiki energy and assist others to channel Reiki energy. By rediscovering this long-forgotten technique, he was able to heal many people from negative energy that causes illness, pain, and bad karma. Because Reiki is the universal life force energy, it is always positive and it will NEVER cause harm.

Reiki In America
After Dr. Usui had died many of his successors opened training schools in Japan to keep the practice of Reiki going. One of these Reiki masters named Mr. Hayashi Chujiro had opened a clinic in Tokyo. One day a woman named Mrs. Takata Hawayo (who had been born in Hawaii) came to Mr. Hayashi's clinic with a number of problems ranging from severe abdominal pain to appendicitis and more... After receiving Reiki two times a day for four months, she was COMPLETELY healed. She was so amazed at how Reiki helped her, that she wanted to learn, so she could go back to Hawaii and continue to heal herself and others. After Mrs. Takata became a Reiki master, she returned to Hawaii and opened her own clinics. Back then, if you wanted to become a Reiki master she would charge a fee of $10,000 in order to train for your mastership. Prices went down throughout the years and many more people began to learn and master Reiki.

Usui Reiki Treatment for the improvement of body and Mind

How Reiki Works:
Reiki is a hands-on-healing method of unblocking negative energies that cause illness, and problems in the body. A Reiki session is really simple, the client lays down (fully clothed) on a massage table (provided by the practitioner), and that's basically it. The practitioner stands, or sits and begins the treatment. First the practitioner will call for the healing energy to come, so that the client may be healed. Then a quick (floating) body scan will be done to let the practitioner know if there are any really "trouble spots" that the client might be suffering from. After the scan is over the practitioner will lay or hover their hands over the SEVEN major chakras. Heat coming from the practitioners hands is a common side affect, and should not be feared, it is in fact quite good. After all seven chakras are done the practitioner may continue on to do the "Meridians" or minor chakras. I tend to do both major and minor chakras, because it benefit's the client even more, and tends to bring a very deep relaxation. After the front side of the client is done they will turn over onto their stomach and the back will get done (again doing all chakras). Finally when the session is coming to the end the practitioner does a quick aura sweep threes times, then the person can sit up slowly. Lastly, the client sits on the table with their legs hanging off, and the practitioner grounds them. This is done by simply rubbing from the shoulders to the small of the back. Then the practitioner goes around to the front of the client and does the same thing only from the knee caps to the feet. Grounding is very important, because after a Reiki massage the person could feel a bit light-headed or floaty.

Chakras
Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means, "wheel of light". Traditionally there are seven chakras and these are the energy centers of the etheric body. The chakras appear as wheel-like vortices of pure energy and are sometimes referred to as "lotuses". They spin at great speed and in a deeply spiritual person, they become spheres of radiant energy. The chakras lie along the nave of the spine and through them, a person's spirit and soul become receptive and communicate with cosmic energies. Each chakra has its own purpose, association and connection. Balancing the chakras is not only beneficial to well-being but also the only way of uniting the individual Soul with the Universal Soul.

The Seven Major Chakras and their "Colors"
The first chakra is the"RED"root or base chakra. It is located at the base of the spine.
The second chakra is the "ORANGE" Lower Abdomen or Sacral chakra. It is located between the navel and genitals.
The third chakra is the"YELLOW"Solar Plexus chakra. It is located above the navel, below the chest.
The forth chakra is the"GREEN"Heart chakra. It is located at the center of the chest.
The fifth chakra is the"BLUE"Throat chakra. It is located around the throat area.
The sixth chakra is the"INDIGO"Third Eye chakra. It is located at the center of the forehead.
The seventh chakra is the"VIOLET"Crown chakra. It is located at the top and center of the head.
