| ADVOCATING: | the improvement of library and information services for the Spanish speaking and people of Hispanic origin in Texas, at the local, regional and national levels. |
| PROMOTING: | the library profession through annual scholarships awarded to students interested in library services to the Spanish speaking. |
| MENTORING: | mentoring for prospective library students. |
| SPONSORING: | workshops and programs at state, regional and national library conferences. |
| PROVIDING: | you the opportunity to visit and tour a variety of libraries in El Paso including the El Paso Public Library System, El Paso Community College Libraries, The University of Texas at El Paso Library, and other library facilities in the region. |
| ACTING: | as liaison and working with other library organizations such as ALA, TLA, NMLA, and BRLA |
| WORKING: | library resources and programs serving the interests of Spanish speaking and Hispanic-origin communities in the United States. |
| BRINGING: | together people who share the same goals and concerns regarding the availability and access of library and information services to a growing Hispanic population. |
