Strawberry almond scrub Strawberries have natural astrigent properties that tighten your pores, and leave your face feeling toned and fresh. Try grinding a quarter cup of almonds at once, and store them in a jar in the refrigerator so you always have some around. 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp ground almonds 1 ripe strawberry (if fresh strawberries aren't available, it's ok to use thawed frozen berries.) Mix the almonds and baking soda together in a small dish. Slice a single strawberry into the bowl and mash it all together with a fork (or your fingers) to make a smooth paste. Apply to your face using your fingertips as directed in the basic scrub instructions.
Almond rose scrub The almonds and rosewater in this recipe combine to smooth and hydrate your skin. If you don't have rosewater, plain water works fine. But really, use rosewater. You can find it in natural food stores or in the international section in your grocery store. Make sure it's the real thing and not an imitation. 1 Tbsp ground almonds 1 tsp rosewater or water Mix the almonds and water to a paste, then apply to your face using your fingertips.
Applying a scrub *All of these recipes make enough for one scrub and are applied in pretty much the same way. Use your fingers. *First splash your face with warm water. *Scoop the scrub onto your finger and work it all over your face using gentle circular motions. Never press hard or tug on your skin. Avoid your eye area. If you getsomething in your eyes, rinse them immediatly with water. *Rinse your face with warm (never hot) water, then pat it dry with a clean. soft towel.
