Personality:
Quiet, studious, respectful, unassuming, but friendly most of
the time. When Loyheth is close to rising, he becomes almost extroverted, and will start to flirt and act coy. Being Holdbred, he isn't all that comfortable with his preference and tends to try not to call attention to himself. History: Siadun never quite fit in back home. He hated the jungle for starters. Hated the humid, damp, dark heat of the place, the unending labor involved in keeping it under control. He did his work, but was liable to disappear for
hours when he could get away with it, and tuck himself up in a tree to daydream. Like many a boy, his daydreams frequently involved dragons ... and like virtually every boy who dreamed of dragons, he dreamed of the bronzes and browns.
His family attended a Gather just after his 13th birthingday, and by sheer chance, Siadun quite literally bumped into a bluerider from Benden Weyr. When the bluerider said he could be a Candidate, Siadun was absolutely thrilled, and, with his parents' blessing, went to Benden Weyr.
Weyr life came as a shock to Siadun. Raised in the confines of the back jungles of Nerat, with a very narrow world-view, there were certain things about Weyr life that threw Siadun into quiet confusion. He had a hard time adapting at first, but eventually managed quite well.
Unfortunately, his Candidacy wasn't going as well as it could. He stood for clutch after clutch, and walked away from each partnerless. He became more and more depressed. Added to that, he was coming of age ... and simply devoid of any interest in the female of the species. He couldn't drum up even dry appreciation for the female form, and it confused him. Holdbred, it never
occurred to him to look at the men. At least not until he was fifteen. An older bluerider took a fancy to Siadun, but had his work cut out for him trying to get Siadun's attention. Eventually, he did. Siadun was, quite frankly, horrified in the aftermath of that encounter. Not because he found it disgusting, but because he *didn't*. It didn't matter that such a thing was quite commonplace in the Weyr. For him, it was something that simply wasn't done. Gradually though, he came to the realization that whether he liked it or not, that was the way things were.
The following Turn, he stood for yet another clutch, and this time he finally suceeded. Green Loyheth, the smallest green in the clutch, sought him out. The pair breezed through Weyrlinghood. S'dun made a decision early on that he was not going to be a typical greenrider, doing stupid stunts and otherwise trying to prove he was better than the bronzeriders. He was a greenrider. Plain and simple. He would do what was required of him and his dragon to the best of their abilities, and with as little fanfare as possible. It earned him and Loyheth a certain amount of respect.
When Red Star Weyr was opened and dragonriders of all colors were asked to transfer, S'dun volunteered, and went to the Weyr with some of the first dragonriders. He has spent the time since then doing pretty much what he'd done at Benden.
