Personality:
Drini is very unsure of herself and reserved. She has always been aflicted with agoraphobia, the fear of open spaces, and this troubles her as a queenrider. The only time she feels safe in the open is with Ardeth. This has caused her to be ever so slightly paranoid and a bit distrusting.
The horrible incident with the late Weyrwoman has increased her paranoia until she fears even her own shadow. Her eyes are always watching for danger. She is very aware of her height, and has to remind herself not to slouch over to hide it.
Once you get through the shell of her distrustfullness and not unfounded fears, she is a sweet girl with a keen sense of humor and sharp wit, though she rarely shows it. She is one to sit back and watch before making a decision, a good quality in a queenrider, one of the few she lays claim to. She can't understand why Ardeth chose her.
History:
Drini is the youngest daughter of a fisherman and a baker from Ista Island. Her fair hair and eyes were a surprise in the family, causing her to stick out when in the company of her dark siblings. She has never been able to romp in the sun as they do and this caused a slight rift between them. Inara and Riandar went on with their lives, forgetting their younger sister hidden at home in the shadows. Her mother kept her by her side, teaching her the bakercraft trade in hopes that the girl would have some sort of future. Her terror of open spaces has caused her father much exasperation until their relationship was strained almost irreparably. It was with tremendous relief to the entire family when she was Searched at the age of 17.
The trip to Ista Weyr adragonback nearly sent her into shock and it was decided she shouldn't stand for that clutch. For the next half Turn, she kept to the Lower Caverns, working as a baker in the weyr, making few friends and venturing out into the bowl only at night when the sky didn't look quite so wide. Then the call came for candidates at Red Star Weyr. Without quite knowing why, she asked to transfer and was taken immediately South. This trip wasn't quite so horrifying, since it was done in the dark of night. At Red Star, however, it was bright day. Once again, she was frightened into near insensibility and despaired of ever having a meaningful life.
Weyrwoman Oroma took pity on the girl and took her under her wing, trying to help her overcome her fear. Ardeth forgave her for her problems, however, when she Impressed the golden dragonet at her first standing at Red Star. The queen's choice was thought ill done by most of the weyr, none moreso than Indrini herself, but Ardeth has been instrumental in helping her out of her frightened shell. The pair graduated weyrlinghood with little incident, other than a few severe bouts with the agoraphobia.
Oroma's tragic death sent her spiraling back down into her paranoia, to her dragon's distress.

Personality: Ardeth is as outgoing as her rider is reserved. Highly sensitive to her lifemate's problems, she attempts to help where she can, barely understanding why.
Physical description: Ardeth is a small queen, pale gold in color with faint greenish dapples on her haunches and darker gold stripes on her legs. She is daintily built and well put together, even with being the smallest queen in the weyr, along with the youngest.
