Personality:
Whoever said you can't please everyone all the time has never met G'naku. He is genial, affable, easygoing to a fault ... and very, very, VERY... loving. There are some that say he'd romance a firelizard if it looked at him twice. He takes dragonriding seriously, but little else.
History:
Akulina and Goristel wanted kids. Lots of kids. For whatever reason, they seemed to be unable to *have* those kids, so when Gorinaku was born, he got spoiled *rotten*. Just plain rotten. For the first Turn. Fortunately, the other mothers at South Boll recognized a potential bad situation and started fostering kids with the couple after that. That cut the spoiling quite a bit, but Gorinaku was *still* their son, as opposed to someone else's. He was saved from becoming an unholy terror by his own personality. Kids that are that sunshiny and happy are kind of hard to turn mean.
He, however, did not give his future much thought. Why should he with two parents making over him? He was surprised when, at sixteen, he was Searched. He did not Impress at that clutch, and in his disappointment, turned for consolation to the rider, a man, who'd Searched him. What happened that night was
rather a startling eye-opener for Holdbred Gorinaku ... but he decided it wasn't bad at all. Nor, he decided, was he going to give up women, whom he'd already had an encounter or three with by that time.
Later that Turn, he stood again and, much to his delight, Impressed Sirudth. Weyrling Training, at first, bid fair to break G'naku in half, but he found an unexpected core of strength in himself and eventually began to thrive. But he was probably the most relieved person on the planet when he finally graduated to the Fighting Wings.
A few Turns later, he had what, to date, was his longest fling with any one person, Oradali. They were together nearly a full Turn and in the end produced a son together, Gorinora. But G'naku the wanderer just couldn't stay with one person, and he and Oradali went their seperate ways. When Red Star Weyr opened, he offered to come along. A Turn later, his son, now a rider in his own right, followed.
