Personality: D'nal is very much a loner. He could quite happily live with no contact other than his dragon. He is prone to brooding and rarely ever smiles. In his younger days, his temper was short and lasted long, but age has taught him some wisdom. He is no fool and is quite intelligent. He is also unwilling to deal with those less capable than himself. Ruthless when circumstances warrant, he is nevertheless scrupulously fair with those in his wing. Daredevils are swiftly punished if their stunts risk life or limb, but quick thinking elicits praise from him ungrudgingly.
History:
D'nal was born a Bitran. His father was a pure Bitran, gambler and all. He forced his family to he destitute through his debts until he was finally killed for it. It fell on youn Dalinal's shoulders to care for the family. At the age of 9, he was their sole support, falling back on hard labor and simple thievery when that didn't suffice.
It was a tough life, even in Bitra, where such things were expected. Then the boy managed to cross the wrong person and stumbled into the first good fortune of his life. In an attempt to pick the pocket of what he thought was another ruffian like his father had been, he inadvertently stole from a dragonrider. The bluerider's dragon took an interest in the twelve year old and convinced his rider not to punish the boy.
Dalinal and his family were brought to Telgar Weyr where they were taken care of...marginally. There, they became little more than drudges, relying on the kindness of the riders not to throw them from the weyr. Dalinal was held from standing until he was deemed suitable at the age of 14 when Calsith charged across the sands and nearly out of the hatching grounds to find him.
Ever since, he has had a difficult time fitting in, bouncing from weyr to weyr once he'd graduated weyrling status, his attitude keeping him from rising very high until the last few years when he was able to overcome some of his anger towards the riders that abused his family even while caring for them. In 527 AL, he transfered to Red Star Weyr, half hoping to carve, literally, a new life for himself.

Personality: Calsith is as reserved as his rider. He likes his space and does not tolerate being pushed around by any dragon, even a queen. He has a keen mind and good memory, for a dragon.
Physical description: Calsith is an average sized bronze. His hide is very dark bronze with a reddish tinge. The skin on his right thigh is scarred from fight with another bronze as a weyrling. Like rider like dragon.
