CHAPTER 13: THE LYING SPIRIT
THE REPORT:

In Ccoa's temple, the feline revealed himself as Narcatsal, The Liar, The Deceiving Spirit of Myth. And Shakaku as Saeddry of Fire - a God in Jenisian mythology.

Narcatsal or Ccoa, took responsibility for convicing Saeddry to become mortal - a mistake which he regrets as the other Gods conspired to confine him to his feline form. And he says, because he did not expect Tristitia's return.

Tristitia, he said, was a being he called an "Outsider." He revealed that the Gods were once merely humans who were claimed by great power - who learned to circumvent the natural order and required worship to sustain themselves.

Tristitia, the Outsider, was something altogether different. Tristitia was a being who came to this plane of reality and was worshipped as a God long ago, until her/its people began syphoning it's power. Tristitia then destroyed her people, and returned to wherever it came from to begin with.

However, now, someone is invoking this Outsider, as witnessed by the comet all are calling "The Eye." The Gods of myth were familiar with the Tristitian prophecy, but were either unable or unwilling to counter it - according to Ccoa (Narcatsal) they lacked the power in this plane of reality to do anything about what was happening.

He went on to explain that after the fall of Tristitia, fourteen priests remained to scatter the stones of power that Tristia's essence had been captured in. Eventually, these men turned upon themselves in lust of power. He also said that The City stands where Tristitia's city once stood.

The group returned to Freeport, unknowing that both Shakaku and Ari'Seleara had been possessed by dark spirits. Much happened, as the spirits caused tremendous strife in Freeport and played havoc with Shakaku and Ari'Seleara's compatriots.

Through much trouble, the spirits were cast out by Raina the Priestess of Kibeth, and Sigar the Priest of Asareth.

Now the group finds themselves heading north, to The City....
