Rules of Wizard Battles
Wizard battles are cool. We could watch them and imagine them forever. But someone has to win. Books and movies have taught us some strategies that the winners have used to become successful, and now, your humble webmistress presents these tips as she has learned them from the best, Lord of the Rings and Dragonlance:
-Never let the other wizard take your staff. -Make sure all spell components and accessories (such as pendants) are accounted for and in your possession before beginning a spell. -Try to avoid making deals for your soul with centuries old, life-force stealing liches. -Keep any and all family members, especially twin brothers, away. -Make sure no kender have access to and kinds of magical rings, bracelets, staffs, spoons, etc. -Remove all gnomes from the vicinity, especially if they can actually make things work. -If you are going to allow the undead to speak through you, adequately prepare friends and family, so as to avoid pointless attacks on said undead. -Never give your staff to someone significantly shorter than you: it always causes problems. -Don't take drinks from women who you know aren't interested in you, no matter how flattering it is...it only leads to trouble--most likely in the form of poison. -If you have minions, make sure you ascertain their location--and loyalty--before absorbing yourself completely in spellcasting and maniacal laughter CONTRIBUTED BY JHAWK8713: -Know the location of any kender in the vicinity. -If you can only learn one spell, learn a good one. (example- Palin vs. father of all and nothing)
