There once was a world where humans and monsters
lived together in harmony. This world was suddenly disrupted by a man
who wished to taste ultimate perfection. The four continents of this
world united to create the four Shifter Orbs, which were given to four
gifted people- people who could use the Orbs to create powerful Hybrids. One Orb
was destroyed, but the evil was driven back. Unfortunately, the evil rose again,
and drove all the monsters of the world into a furious bloodlust. The descendants
of the gifted stood up once more to defend their world, and the evil was
driven back again. And to save the world from destruction at the hands
of the insane monsters, the Legendary Hybrid sealed them into cards...
This is the back story to
Hybrid Shifters, a collectable card game that is a global craze in the
world of the near future. In Japan, the sensation of the game is boosted
further by the release of Hybrid Shifters: Worldwide, the Mass
Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game that lets players from all around
the world engage in Shifter Battles set in a virtual reconstruction of
Seavre, the world of Hybrid Shifters. This game uses Ultimate Reality
technology: the virtual breakthrough that completely immerses the player
in the game world.
Japanese pop idol Nikko Ankhana is bored with his life, and finds new
excitement in secretly playing Hybrid Shifters. He's quite good, too.
Since the shops are completely sold out of Hybrid Shifters: Worldwide,
Nikko jumps at the chance when he's offered a free copy by a mysterious
stranger. And that's when everything goes wrong...
As if his twenty thousand-foot plunge into the game world wasn't bad
enough, his game cartridge has a virus on it that has transformed him
into a very cute, very well built catgirl! And the only way to cure
himself is to win the richest prize of them all: The World
Championship...
With a cold, apathetic expert as his companion, a constant stream of
opponents, a Rare Quest that will take him to the four corners of Seavre
and back, dark forces conspiring in the background, three powerful crime
lords to contend with AND the perils and pitfalls of real life to
overcome, Nikko's quest to become the greatest Hybrid Shifters player in
two worlds is looking easier with every passing day...

The Shifter battles are easy to understand, because of the card
explanations. It means you'll never forget what a card does. Also, the
summary of the amount of cards in both players hands and their meta
