This page is dedicated solely to Shannon, who is my newest friend, and one that I hope becomes an even better one. She is an amazing artist (just click on those pictures up there and you'll see what I mean) and an amazing person all around, and I'm very glad that she, for some reason, has deemed me worthy to be her friend.
I have admired Shannon from afar for quite some time now, and, for reasons I'm still not sure of myself, I decided to ask around and get her phone number. It took quite a bit of effort on my part, but I think it was well worth it. When I first got up the nerve to call her, I had no idea what I was going to say to her. I figured we had absolutely nothing in common, but she is one of the most unique people I have ever met, and I thought that maybe I could find some interest that we shared, besides Tori Amos and Angelina Jolie, that is. After the first couple of calls, I figured I was too boring for her and she didn't want to talk to me anymore, so I stopped calling and just watched her in Creative Writing class.
After school got out and she graduated, I reluctantly gave up any hope that Shannon and I would ever become friends. However, I was pleasantly surprised just a few days ago, when Shannon called me and wanted to know if I wanted to get together. Of course, I said yes, and I went over to her house. The first visit was kind of odd, mainly because we didn't say that much to each other, but by some odd miracle, she invited me over again.
The next visit, which was last night by the way, was much more productive in the way of learning more about each other. We discovered that not only do we have a lot in common, but some of our idiosyncrasies are down right weird. Needless to say, Shannon has, in the past three or four days, become a great friend, and someone who I hope I can legitimately employ the "Honesty Policy" with at all times.
I still think the only reason she invited me over was because I went through almost every person in school to get her number... |
