| Things That Tend To Piss Me Off |
| Okay, this is more or less just a page for me to rant and rave on. There are so many things that totally piss me off, and I'm not the type of person who can articulate things clearly when I'm upset, so I'm going to write them all on this page. Number One: Uneducated People Don't get me wrong- when I say "uneducated people," I don't mean dumb people, people who really can't learn things as well as others. I have nothing but patience for someone who is willing to try, but when you get some know-it-all who refuses to listen to reason and logic, then I start to get a little pissed. If these people would spend half as much time listening to others as they do spewing random obscenities to individuals, the world would be a much better place. Of course, I believe a lot of the world's problems could be solved if people would just take the time to listen to different perspectives. Number Two: Wishy-Washy People I can't stand people who blatantly say one thing, then turn around and blatantly do the exact opposite. Unfortunately, most of the people I encounter in my everyday life are exactly like this. It seems to me that it is absolutely impossible for a person to say they are by God going to do something, and when they get through, blah, blah, blah... then when it comes to doing whatever it was they proclaimed they were going to do, they change everything around and twist their own words, not to mention the words of others, to make them seem like the "good guy". It's like a constant political election; everyone wants to win, but no one wants to fight for it. Number Three: Narrow-Minded People I realize that this topic, in many ways, stems back to number one, but when I say "narrow-minded people," I am referring largely to racists and sexists. These people piss me off more than anyone in the whole world. I've noticed that the majority of these people use the Bible or some type of script to back up their beliefs. They, like the people illustrated in number two, tend to twist the written word until it suits their particular issue, believing that all things are open to extreme interpretation. While I myself believe that most things are open to interpretation, the Bible included, the part that really upsets me is when these extremists use their "proof" to infringe upon the rights of others. When someone wants to rain upon a gay person, for example, about how homosexuality is wrong, and they quote various passages from the Bible, most of which have absolutely no factual information pertaining to the topic at hand, and expect to be greatly rewarded from God Himself for demeaning others when they know good and well that they themselves are filled with just as much evil and sin as the next person. People who feel big by putting others down does not score high on my "List Of Favorites," needless to say. I, as much as anyone else, realize that the three "big" things that I have listed that "tend to piss me off" are not at all things, but personality types. Don't get me wrong- there are plenty of things that undoubtedly bother me, such as ketchup packets and pennies, but considering that this was a somewhat "serious" page, the only things I could list that really upset me are people. I suppose that, to some extent, could play into why I really don't have that many friends, but to tell you the truth, if the only "friends" I can have are able to be classified in the aforementioned categories, then I really don't want them. |
