| "Is that you, Harry, boy? I've been waiting for you. I'm right down the hall in room 132." When we got to the office, a big desk was there. A big man was sitting inside a big chair. He looked mighty mean, and he looked mighty scary. He studied us both and then said, "Welcome, Harry!" He said to my dog, "Harry, you're a smart chap!" It was then Rover felt a small itch in his cap. It started out tiny, it started out small. But the small itch got bigger in no time at all. He wrinkled his nose, and my dog looked at me, I could tell by his face that my dog had a flea. The big man stood up, and we both stared in awe. He stuck out his hand, Rover stuck out his paw. The President shook Rover's hairy dog hand. It was then Rover had all the itch he could stand. He lost all control, he completely let go. He shook his dog body from head to his toe. He scratched his dog ears; his cap fell to the floor. It was clear that my dog was no boy any more. The President stared with his mouth open wide. Then he finally said, "How'd a dog get inside? I see why you want to let dogs go to schools. I see why you think we should change all the rules." The President's one whom you don't mess around. We knew that my dog would be sent to the pound. Rover picked up his cap, and we started to leave. But what happened next, we just could not believe... |
