Robert Andrew Dulaney Sr.
Robert Andrew Dulaney (Sr.) was born to Walter Ray Dulaney Sr. and Alice Louise (Coleman) Dulaney in Los Angeles, California, USA on 18 August 1935.
Robert's family life was very rough and neglectful and eventually he was caught stealing a candy bar from an establishment that belonged to David and Betty Labansat located in believe in Inglewood, California, USA.
Instead of causing more problems for Robert, David and Betty "adopted" Robert and began treating him as their son. David and Betty had no children. Robert had a great respect for David and Betty and considered them his parents. Though the adoption was never "legal" it was a parental/son love for one another that bound them forever.
This relationship carried over in to Robert's married life, when Robert married Maryetta Imschweiler on August 28, 1953 in Tijuana, Mexico. Into this union Maryetta brought a daughter from a previous relationship, Rebbecca Lyn Imschweiler, though Robert never legally adopted Rebbecca, Rebbecca was his daughter and you could not say different to either Rebbecca or Robert. Rebbecca has always been a Dulaney and always will be a Dulaney as far as this family is concerned.
Robert was employed by Smoot Holmen Corporation which was located at 321 N Eucalyptus, Avenue in Inglewood in the early 1950's. Later Robert became a Certified Auto Mechanic, by trade. However,and he also worked for Whittaker Burmite Powder Company in Saugus, California, USA as his contribution to the war effort in Vietnam while also working as a Mechanic for Ron Ogdens service station located in San Fernando, CA. While employed at those two jobs Robert, with the help of his family, ran the ranch they lived on as a means to help support and feed his family. This ranch was located at 29625 Louis Avenue, Canyon Country, California.
It was while Robert was an employee of Whittaker Burmite that during a fire in the powder/flare building that Robert noticed a man missing at the fire muster. Without regard for his own life Robert rushed into the burning building where bullets were being made that day and rescued a fellow worker who was so frightened Robert had to actually pry him off his machine.
In about 1968 Robert sustained an injury on his arm and neglected to care for it. The wound festered and became blood poisoned, which caused Robert to fall deathly ill. The infection caused a fever of 110 degrees and the doctors did not expect him to live. Live he did though and without losing his arm. However the fever gave him irreversible brain damage and also caused meningitis to appear. Robert was given only a year to live.
Though in constant pain and agony Robert continued to provide for his family and eventually bought them a home located at 19329 Lonrock Street in then Canyon Country, in California, and began drawing his Social Security.
Robert finally passed away the 13th of March, 1975 in Canyon Country, California, USA. His death certificate places his death in Santa Clarita, California, USA. His body was cremated, the whereabouts of his remains, remain unknown.
