Tree planting - A hundered more
trees to green Mt. Makiling
Our club initiated this "fellowship" tree planting of 100 mango and mahogany trees beside the area already planted 2 years ago by RC Los Baņos at the National Art Center. We plan to continue the planting every year so that this development can be called "the Rotary area". Permission was granted us from the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, UPLB and coordination of this activity was made with the Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems, UPLB. We were joined by our sister club, Rotary Club of Cubao East headed by Pres. Beng de Guzman and Rotary Spouse Maricel, Rotary Club of Kampong Baharu (Malaysia) headed by Pres. Adil Naidu Abdullah and family, and Rotary Club of Los Baņos. 10 November2001 (completed planting) More Rotarians from our club and RCLB completed the planting of all trees at sunrise and culminated with breakfast at the National Art Center Park. |
