EAGLE PRESIDENT ARIEL ANG
Eagle president Ariel R. Ang is a medical doctor by profession.  Born on July 6, 1961, he is married to Ethel Calamaya-Ang and is blessed with a daughter, Ariana Louise, aged 2.

President Ariel was born in Manila but grew up in the town of Calamba, Laguna before settling down in Sacay Grand Villas in Los Baos, Laguna.  His father is Retired Colonel Eduardo Ang and his mother is Mrs. Cecilia Ang, a retired nurse.  He is the eldest of six children having four brothers, one of whom is his fraternal twin, and two sisters.  He received his education from Canossa School and took up his college course in the University of the Philippines in Los Baos, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology.  He went on to study medicine at the Bicol Christian College of Medicine in Legaspi City, Bicol and graduated in 1987.

Wanting to learn more about his field of study, he went on to attend a post Graduate Course on Occupational Health and Safety at the College of Public Health, University of the Philippines, Manila and finished it in March of 1991.   He took up his masteral studies and graduated with Masters in Public Health (MPH) on June 1996 from the Prince Leopold Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium.  Later, he also attended a certificate course on Management of the Health Care Sector in January 1999, at the Inter-University Institute for Training and Development (IITD) in Brussels, Belgium. His fields of specialization include the following: General Medicine; Public Health and Nutrition; Primary Health Care and Health Program Management; Industrial/Occupational Medicine; Environmental Health and Epidemiology; Environmental Health Impact and Health Risk Assessments.

Dr. Ariel Ang served as the Municipal Health Officer of the municipality of Los Baos for eleven years, reason enough for him to be a well-known personality in the small academic town.  He could have run for a municipal councilor position in the May 2001 elections and would have surely won if not for well-meaning friends who dissuaded him from entering politics. Politics loss is surely the Rotary Club of Los Baos gain.  He is currently the chief executive officer of the Medical Mission Group Hospital and Health Services Cooperative of Los Baos.

President Ariels first taste of Rotary came when he was accepted as a Group Study Exchange Scholar in 1991 to RIBI District 115 Wales, UK.  After being rotarized in this manner, he was invited and consequently inducted as a member of the Rotary Club of Los Baos in August 1991.  Serving the club to the best of his ability, he gained the prestigious award of Outstanding Rotarian of RC Los Baos in 1992.  He later became Club treasurer from 1992 to 1994 and concurrently served as Director for Community Service for the same period.  He is now a Paul Harris Sustaining Fellow for Rotary Year 2001-2002.

With a vibrant young man at the helm of the club, RC Los Baos is set for another fruitful year of rotary work and activities.  This early, he has already lined up several noteworthy projects that are foreseen to benefit the many indigent people of the community.  District Governor Jim Hao has expressed his interest and excitement at one of the projects proposed during the Governors Visit and has given his support to find the needed financing for the implementation of the project.  And with the eager support of the members of RC Los Baos, President Ariel will surely lead the club to greater heights.
