| To be successful,
students must be present in classes and must actively participate
in learning activities. To maintain academic standards, encourage
academic progress, and ensure student participation in the school
experience, the Administration of Raynor Country Day School
has established an attendance policy. This policy will ensure
that students who receive credit for the academic school year
have attended at least 85% of the classes and have participated
in the classroom. Even when specific work is made up, the valuable
"time on task" is missed. Attendance is a critically
important factor contributing to success in school. Students
out of school for a prolonged period of time due to illness
may be eligible for home instruction provided by the students'
home school district. Contact principal for further information.
Students out of school for a prolonged period of time due to
unexcused absences as defined in our attendance policy, will
be required to have tutoring provided by the parent in order
to stay current with classwork. By
encouraging attendance and promptness, two essential components
of self-discipline and responsibility, this policy will prepare
our students for the demands of the future. It affirms that
students will be aware that tardiness, and/or excessive absences
will jeopardize their successful completion of an academic
school year and/or graduation.
All students, Kindergarten through Eighth
Grade are expected to arrive promptly at 8:15 am and to meet
all scheduled homeroom assignments. Students arriving after
this time must sign in at the front office. Students who are
late for reasons other than a late bus must bring a note from
their parents explaining the reason for lateness. (Parents
will be informed of consistent late bus arrivals so they can
contact their home school district transportation office).
Raynor Country Day School expects all enrolled
students in Grades K - 8 to attend school daily on a regular
basis. Parents of students are expected to provide written
excuses for all absences and/or latenesses.
For more information, refer to Raynor
Country Day School's Attendance Policy.
