Raynor Country Day School is open from 7:00am
to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday, providing before and after-school
care for a fee, at your convenience.
Our after-school learning offers customized
educational and recreational classes that provide enrichment
activities for children. We've tailored our programs to meet
the needs of our school community and children as well.
First Semester
Art
Origami
Students will study and learn the art of Japanese paper folding.
Second Semester
Computer Graphics
Students will use a variety of computer art programs including
Adobe Photoshop and Print Artist.
Third Semester
Ceramics
Students will master the basic techniques of ceramics. Children
will learn how to make pinch pots, coil, and slab work.
Fourth Semester
Water Color Painting
Students will learn a variety of water color techniques.
ATHLETIC CLINICS
Participants in all athletic clinics will have the opportunity
to compete in a parent vs. student game.
First Semester
Instructional Soccer Clinic ~ Offered to: Pre-Kindergarten
- Grade 6
Instructed by a former NCAA player and coach, the students
will learn the basic fundamentals of soccer. Players will
develop the proper method of passing, trapping and shooting.
Children will familiarize themselves with different field
positions and responsibilities. Competitive games will be
played. All players will be expected to follow game rules
and wear shin guards at all times. Raynor Country Day School
will not supply shin guards.
Second Semester
Instructional Basketball Clinic ~ Offered to: Pre-Kindergarten
- Grade 6
Pass! Shoot! Score! This fun and instructional clinic will
provide each child with the basic fundamental skills of basketball.
Players will develop the proper method of passing, shooting,
and dribbling. Children will develop gross motor skills. Competitive
games will be played. All players will be expected to follow
game rules.
Third Semester
Instructional Indoor Soccer Clinic ~ Offered to: Pre-Kindergarten
- Grade 6
Let's bring the fun indoors. The players will continue to
develop passing, trapping, and shooting techniques. Children
will be challenged to gain a stronger control over the ball
on our indoor court. Competitive games will be played. All
players will be expected to follow game rules and wear shin
guards. Raynor Country Day School will not supply shin guards.
Fourth Semester
Instructional Tee-Ball / Softball Clinic ~ Offered to: Pre-Kindergarten
- Grade 6
Let's play ball! This fun and instructional clinic will provide
each child with the basic fundamentals of America's favorite
pastime. Players will develop the proper method of hitting,
throwing and catching. Children will familiarize themselves
with different field positions and responsibilities. Competitive
games will be played. All players will be expected to follow
game rules. Each child must attend the weekly practice with
a baseball glove. Raynor Country Day School will not supply
gloves.
Cheerleading
Offered to Grade 2 – Grade 6
The students will be responsible for promoting team spirit
and sportsmanship all athletes will learn vocal cheers, develop
dance routine and practice stunt techniques.
Dance - Twinkle Toes
Offered to Pre-Kindergarten
Designed as an introduction to creative movement and tap dancing.
These are non-pressure classes with emphasis on fun.
Dance - Petites
Offered to Kindergarten
These classes are more structured and introduce students to
the basics of Ballet, Tap and Gymnastics.
Dance - Level I
Offered to Grade 1 - Grade 5
This class will review basic terms and positions of ballet
and tap and will introduce students to jazz dancing. Jazz
is a free-style form of movement using today's popular music.
Dance - Level II
Pre requisite Level I
This class will build upon the concepts learned in Level I.
The emphasis will be on more challenging steps and combinations.
Early Literacy
Offered to Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 1
Students will be offered the opportunity to develop reading
and writing skills through enriching and hands-on lessons.
Knowledge Masters
Offered to Grade 4 – Grade 6
Knowledge Masters is an international academic contest that
covers all disciplines.
Musical
Offered to Grade 1 - Grade 6
Students will have the opportunity to sing, dance and act
on stage. There will be two different live productions during
the school year.
Science
Offered to Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 6
Students will create projects and perform experiments based
on the scientific method in the areas of chemistry, physics,
astronomy, biology and ecology.
Sports
Offered to Pre-Kindergarten - Grade 6
Students will participate in a variety of athletic games.
Children will also develop a sense of teamwork and adherence
to rules. There are scrimmage soccer and scrimmage basketball
programs consisting of multiple practices and games.
Yearbook
Offered to Grade 4 - Grade 6
Students will be responsible for capturing a year's worth
of events in pictures and text. Students will also experiment
with layout and collage techniques.
