The Social Studies curriculum for Kindergarten will include:
Major areas of study include self-awareness, discovery
and the physical world. Through self-awareness the children
will learn about our school and the importance of rules
and jobs. Other topics include my family, community helpers
and my world. Through discovery the children explore sorting
and classifying. We incorporate hands-on activities and
use prediction, observation, and experimentation. Areas
of studies are divided into units according to grade levels
and broken down into season based themes.

The Social Studies Curriculum focuses on Silver Burdett
Finn's Program: Families and Friends. This is a theme-based
program, which is designed to foster awareness of a child's

The Social Studies curriculum for Grade Five will include:
The 5th Grade Social Studies features a study of American
history. Among the many units covered are the explorers
of the new world, the Pilgrims, the American Revolution
& constitution, Westward expansion, and the Civil War.
Trips to Philadelphia, Plymouth Plantation, and Boston are
planned.
The Social Studies curriculum for Grade Six will include:
The sixth grade social studies curriculum consists of
a study of selected areas of world history. Great emphasis
will be placed on ancient civilization such as Greece, Rome,
and Egypt. The Middle Ages, Renaissance, Reformation and
the period of colonization are also taught. Geography lessons
concerning the countries studied are also featured.
