Method: When we pray the rosary, we meditate on the life, passion and salvation of Jesus Christ. We begin with our profession of faith in the Apostles Creed on the crucifix followed by the Lord's Prayer and three Hail Marys' and a Glory Be. This centers my disposition and concentration on the things of God and I can now attempt to leave the material world behind. (O My Jesus ~) is recited at the end of each decade of ten Hail Marys'..
Prayers: Apostles Creed
O My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.
During the first and succeeding decades we first meditate momentarily on a Mystery from one of the groupings of Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious or Luminous Mysteries. (See Scripture reference at the end of this page) The mysteries are selected sequentially from the above list. We begin with the Lord's Prayer, then ten Hail Marys', and a Glory Be, followed by O My Jesus ~. Five decades are recited from each group. Fifteen (or twenty) decades make up a complete rosary that is many times divided into thirds (or quarters). (or just one grouping of mysteries). After the fifth decade (mystery) the rosary is finished by calling Our Blessed Mother to pray for us with the Hail Holy Queen (Salve Regina)
