We adore thee, O Christ, and we bless thee;                     Because by thy holy cross thou hast redeemed the world.

We meditate on the passion and death of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As Our Savior; He is the sacrificial Lamb of God.  During the Last supper and through His Passion and death He offers Himself as the Passover Lamb.  As in Egypt, the lamb was killed and eaten at the first Passover, and the blood of the lamb was spread on the doorposts and the lintel, thereby marking the house as one to be saved from the angel of death, this lamb was the salvation of Israel.  So too, Jesus becomes our Paschal Lamb.  Our salvation.  As the sins of the nation were put on the sacraficial lamb in the Temple every year for the forgiveness of their sin, Jesus took upon Himself all of our sins and offered himself as our sacrifice, once and for all, for our Salvation.

We encourage you to look farther into the scripture passages presented here, meditate on them and apply them to your life.
