Welcome to the Home of the San
Diego Clippers!
The San Diego Clippers are in the Western League of the American
Strat-o-Matic Baseball League. Owner Jason Hoagland has been
in charge of the team since 1998 whereupon he took a lucrative
offer from the San Diego community to relocate his team from
Honolulu to Jack Murphy Stadium and become the San Diego Clippers.
The Clippers have rebuilt themselves under Hoagland and have
a promising young team in the hopes of returning their team to
the season 1 ASBL form of being the Pacific Division Champs.
The San Diego
Clippers are managed by Hall of Famer Casey Stengel. Stengel
is most well known for managing the New York Yankees to a string
of titles in the 1940's and 50's. However, San Diego was able
to lure him out of retirement (and the grave) to come manage
their young ballclub to attain the success that those Yankee
teams did. Read about what Stengal has to
say about life, baseball and the Clippers.
News Flash! Clippers acquire Clayton, Burnitz

After moving their record to 41-37 and within four games of the
last playoff spot, GM Jason Hoagland went into buying mode. He
obtained Jeromy Burnitz and Royce Clayton from the Richmond Rampage
in exchange for Gabe Kapler and a player to be named later, rumoured
to be Mike Sirotka. Although the move was not made in time for
this week of play, Hoagland expects an immediate contribution.
"This should show everybody involved with the Clippers:
the players, coaching staff and fans, that the San Diego Clippers
will truly be players in the ASBL playoffs this season.
News Flash! Hitchcock a Clipper
General Manager Jason Hoagland
acquired Starting Pitcher Sterling Hitchcock from the Wichita
Shockers this week. Concerns about Hitchcock's elbow meant that
Hoagland got him at a discounted price of Bobby Bonilla and Allen
Watson. Manager Casey Stengal was pleased with the move. "We
got our guy," he said. "Now I can throw a couple of
my guys out there any time I want, or I can throw my other 2
guys." The move bumps Sidney Ponson from the rotation, as
Stengal wants to give Freddy Garcia a chance to shine.
Mail the Clippers! A special thanks
to Jason Christopher for developing the San Diego Clipper Logo.
