My Academic Interests
I am basically intersted in research in materials science and research based on nanomaterials in particular .After Under graduation at IIT Kharagpur, I would I like to pursue Higher studies in the field of materials science.
I have been working on a number of research projects to gain experience in the field of Nanostructured materials research and their applications. I have explored the application of nanomaterials to various fields viz.,
- Biomedical applications
- Electronic Packaging
- Semiconducting Gas Sensors (Electronic Micronoses)
I have also been offered internships in Research Labs of good reputation and have successfully completed them with good reviews. I have worked in the following:
I have undergone an internship on Laser aided surface engineering during may-july 2004 at ARCI (Advanced Research Center International for PowderMetallurgy and New materials) Hyderabad ,India. Although this was not the topic on my interest, I was introduced to the latest in Materials Characterization and it proved very useful when I underwent my second internship at the Institute of Nano technology, Research Center Karlsruhe, Germany, during May-July 2005. This internship gave me the technical knowledge that was required for cutting edge research and development. I worked on “ Fabrication, Testing and Development of Nanocrystalline Spincoated SnO 2 Detection Layers in Gradient Gas Sensor Microarrays”, under Prof. Horst Hahn, and Dr. Joachim Goschnick .
Presently I am actively applying to universities for my masters/PhD studies.
Other Interests...
My other interests include Basketball ,Cricket ,Guitars ,music etc....
I love to play Basketball especially when I play at IIT kharagpur .The interhostel tournament conducted every year is fiercely competitive and all the teams fight for the top spot.The practice for this tourney start a month or sometimes even two months prior to the tourney.Just to say that the preparation for a sports event here is done as meticulously as would be done for an academic examination .I also follow the NBA very closely.My favourite team being Sacramento Kings.
I am an Indian so cricket is born with me .I am like every Indian in this respect ,Whenever the Indian cricket team is playing ,I am there to watch them on television or atleast follow the scores if I am busy.
Well I am justing picking up the art and learning its intricacies of playing the guitar .Its not easy though,requires lot of dedication and practice.
My taste in music is wide ,I enjoy stuff from anathema and green carnation to soft rock like GNR (My Fav) .I also really enjoy Indian music.Even in this my range is very wide . I enjoy A.R.Rehman's music and also old melodies .
