Ici and Me

I've been meaning to build this site for absolutely ages, but really my HTML wasn't up to it in any way, shape or form. Hopefully now it's a little less Frontpage-y, thanks to hours and hours reading online HTML guides and Tutorials...

The Address
www.geocities.com/ravens_slavegirl

Simple. I'm a fangirl. I love Raven. Yes, the ECW/WCW/WWE wrestler. He's a total star. In fact, he's a total superstar. Once upon a time he was more my brother's favourite than mine ('cos as was obvious from my old site layout, mine's more or less Rob Van Dam), but he's still pretty damn groovy. Gotta love a guy who's been around so long and done so much. 'Cos I wouldn't think for a damn second that pro wrestling doesn't take it out of you.

HERE there used to be a nice description of why the site was called what it was called, but since it's no longer called 'Misery Made Beautiful', there's not much point in me explaining ;)

Elisabeta
In case you haven't guessed, Elisabeta's me :)

My name
Elisabeta de Almsy

Okay, I admit it, so this isn't my real name. Nor is the name Deaneira de Lafort that I've written under/built websites under/participated in mailing lists with for a while now. It's one of my three screen names (the others being Elizabeth (Lizzie) Bateman, and Deaneira Kyle). I think I probably prefer Deaneira, since there's a lot of stuff I still associate with that name, but Elisabeta was my first one :) And I guess the name I usually go by (Lizzie) is a diminuative of Elisabeta as well as Elizabeth... *giggles*

Origin

The name Elisabeta is basically ripped off straight from the movie Dracula. No, not the cheesy Christopher Lee Hammer flicks, but the Francis Ford Coppola version of Bram Stoker's Dracula. The count's wife, who committed suicide when she thought he'd died, was named Elisabeta. And being the goth-happy vampire-obsessed girl that I am, I took the name and made it my own.

Originally I named a character after her in a story of mine. If you take a look on the Vampires page of this site you'll eventually meet a character named Elisabeta de Almsy. She's the widow of a Romanian count, who I kinda dreamt up... He looked like Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails and is absolutely divine. Anyway, she was his wife. She's a big player in the story as a whole, too. Guess I just love her!

Oh, and the surname - the 'de Almsy' part - is from the book The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje. I loved the movie, although I was in love with Ralph Fiennes at the time. Anyway, it seemed to fit her. Elisabeta de Almsy. It kinda stuck. So here I am with this gorgeous name!

Me
