Cherio was a really great mouse. She was very scared in nature. This was probably because she was my first small rodent, and I didn't know what to do when I first got her. I think I scared her by holding her too much, making quick moves, etc. She has been through a lot in her life. One major event of her life was when my dog was playing with her, and her foot almost got bitten off! My dog was SCARED of Cherio. I have no idea why my dog almost bit off Cherio's foot! I know it was in play, though. |

I lost my mouse to a bad case of mites. I had purchased a mites spray from the local pet store, but it made her very scared and jumpy. It did what it was susposed to do, though, which was get rid of the mites. In about 3 days, I noticed that all of her mite scabs were gone, and she was acting more playful. After about 2 weeks, though, she had lost a lot of weight. I thought that she was just more active, playing, etc. In about a week, I noticed her scabs coming back, so I sprayed her with the mite spray again. The next morning, she was under the steps leading up to her second story, dead. |

This mouse was no ordinary mouse, however. The thing that really made her unique was that she lived with a rat. The rat did not hurt her, and they slept together every night. I got a rat as a companion for her. My mom did not want me to get another mouse, because it is hard to tell their sexes apart. She was overally cautious about this because about 2 years earlier, my sister had purchased 2 "male" hamsters. These 2 "males" ended up as 28 hamsters. We ended up giving they away to a daycare center, where they got lots of love and attention. |
