| Mother Teresa is known to many around the world
as a symbol of humanity. She was an Albanian born catholic nun who spent much of her life
in India becoming Indian. Many had come to India and have become Indianized and it seems
Mother Teresa's view of the world was also molded by India. She became an inclusive person
like Hindus where as christianity is exclusive. Inclusive is the acceptance of all
religions as paths to the same source. And in becoming more Hindu in her outlook she has
become a symbol of all humanity and not just christianity. However, there are some fundamental christians who find fault in her inclusiveness based on their knowledge of Jesus' teachings. Their knowledge is based in the much modified and much limited bible prescribed by Emperor Constantine, who never gave up being a Mithraist and had effectively merged the cult of Mithra to that of Christianity. Here you will find what Mother Teresa said and what fundamentalist Christians bring forth from the Bible.
Even though these are highly noble statements there are biblical scriptures that goes against her statements.
These quotes from the New Testament Bible show that christianity does not accept that all are the children of Jesus or God and that they will be saved. They show that only those who follow Jesus and Christianity will be saved. Mother Teresa is being non-christian when she makes her noble statements.
In the New testament in John 8:44 Jesus was talking to a group of Jews and calls them the sons of the devil and not his sons or God's. In Acts 13:10 Paul calls Elymas the son of the devil. Then in John 10:1-10, Jesus basically sets the exclusivity of his worship. He basically says that only his followers will be saved. More exclusive nature is demonstrated in John 3:16: salvation is offered to those who believe in Jesus. Again in John 14:6 again he reitterates the exclsuivity. He says that only through him lies salvation. It is further stated clearly in Acts 4:12. These tell us of the exclusive nature of the Bible. There are many scripture references that say that only those who follow Jesus are the children of God and only they will be saved. So it is wonderful to see that Mother Teresa, a much celebrated Christian has risen above the Bible and religious intolerance. It is a hope for the world, many christians are becoming less closed minded and Mother Teresa is a bright example for all Christians. May her legacy bring more forth positive change in the Middle Eastern religions. |

| NOTE: The genealogies given in the gospels of Matthew and Luke disagree in the individuals and even the number of generations. Matthew says there were forty-one generations from Abraham to Jesus while Luke says there were fifty-six. But there is even a graver consequence of the genealogy. If Jesus is born of a virgin (some try to say virgin = young woman, but here it is literal since he was supposed to be conceived by the holy spirit and not any human) as the basic Christian belief claims, then he is not the biological son of Joseph, and thus he is not descended from David in fulfillment of the prophecy for Messiahship. So either he was born of virgin and not the Messiah or he was an illegitimate child with no miracle to his birth but was the Messiah. And then he was not son of God... which breaks down the trinity. | ||||
