Okay I believe I said that my mom was back from the US. That's cleared. The next big step I took in this so-called afair was that I decided to undertake the most drastic measures that I did on my own. As you know I was sick starting from that Friday, the day my mom had came back. It was getting late, around 4 or 5PM. If memory serves me right. I was home all day, and my dad, mom, and bro returned from doing something. When they returned I told my parents if I could go to Jin Hwa City, or the Living Mall. I had a plan. They said I could. It's a Sunday night, and I can't believe I'd actually do something this crazy, but it gets worse. I got my bro to come along too. My dad had agreed to take us to Chieng Tan MRT station cause he had to go to his office. Anyways before I left home I took the most imnportant thing known to man, CASH! I took the red envelop money that my dad gave to me years ago. It contained 10000NT. What I decided to do with it, you'll find out. Once our dad dropped us off, my long journey began. I was sick, so it wasn't that good either. Ppl went on and off the MRT and it was a long ride. Takes at least 45 minutes. And I was lucky to figure out which station I was suppose to go. When I did arrive at my station the next problem was how should I get there. Winter break me and Ed went there, and we walked to the MRT station. I forgot which direction, and at the end since it was a bit windy, I decided to get a cab. Funny thing was we were on the wrong side of the street. We got off the cab and the mall was in view. Instead of seeing the big ball, it was now a big soccar ball, due to the World Cup. My bro and I took pics and even now I have them, proving that I did attempt this mission.
May 19, 2002- OPERATION:          BIG GUNZ
Above- That is the Living Mall (aka Jin Hwa City). It's like the largest shopping mall in South East Asia. It looks cool, but the architecture inside is crappy, wouldn't want to be in there during an earthquake or fire.

Below- Guess this would be Ground Zero. I'm at the base of the mall. Soccer ball looks way bigger huh? As you can see, my missions is complete, I got the jewels!!! I'm off...
We then made our way into the mall. I already knew it was going to be a big place. People were all around, and many stores to go to. I'll be frank, I wanted to get Cat a necklace of some sort. I just didn't know what type or where to get it, or how much one would be. We walked all around. Finally I told my bro the plan. Go up to the highest floor and work our way down. Since I was sick, energy is limited. Not to mention time was against me. I think I spent at least one hour and a half just walking around looking at stuff. I would've given up, and then finally I went to the jewery store section. It was odd for me to walk around. First off, I wasn't dressed too mature, like some punk, second it would seem strange that a kid of my stature would even have money to get something that elegant. And seriously I just felt strange in that area cause there's not a lot of ppl looking for jewery. Finally like 2 ladies at this one booth told me to come here and take a look at there things. Well I saw the price of some of them, like near the 25K zone, and I was a bit freaked. Well the first thing they asked was my price range, and they told me if something to something was ok. I don't remember, but as long as it's below 10K I'm fine with it. So they asked it who was it for or the occasion I guess. I told them that there was this dance next week and I wanted to give it to this girl. I assume they thought it was my girlfriend or whatever. And they showed me two items. One was this necklace that was a shape of a heart and some purple lining I guess. The other was a bracelet that I could have something engraved into. They showed me both and told me how special the necklace is since only there store makes it or whatever. And they told me that the necklace would be better since ppl could see it, while the bracelet was harder to see. Of course the bracelet was also cheaper too. Anyways they asked my bro too to give me an opinion. I think the funniest thing now I look back was that I had my kid bro with me when I was purchasing an expensive gift for a girl that never even said she like me or not. So STUPID. Anyways I feel like such a fool now, and I'm sure Cat will never even know the stupid thing I did. Finally I decided to go with the necklace and they told me it was a good choice. It was like giving my heart to her you know, a symbol I guess. And at the time I'm sure that was what I wanted to do, to show Cat how much she meant to me. Anyways the grand total was 5999NT. CRAZY! Can you believed I spent that much on a piece of jewery for a girl that I don't know more than her name? Such a stupid commitment. And I'm sure no one could of stopped me at that time. As I paid they asked if I wanted to do 'tong-yi-ben-hao' some number thing, that takes the taxes off ppl's buiness. I wanted to get my dad's so I called home. My mom was the only one home, she tried to search for the number, but at the end she gave me her younger bro's. I had to do some paperwork too like sign some things. I also forgot to mention how that the two salesperson was able to figure out that I wasn't a local. They somehow asked if I were overseas or something. Anyways I told them I went to TAS. After everything was done, the thing all packed up I was good to go. I was also able to get some prizes. So my bro and I went back up. Even at this very momment, that heart necklace is sitting in my room, never opened. Well my bro and I got to pick out this card and we won this cool coffee cup set, looked like the best prize anyways. We also won a jug of water, and the problem now was we had to drag it all the way back home. Before we were gonna leave, I wanted to get Cat some chocolates too, stupid me, and you won't believe what I was going to do. I was about to buy this extra gift for her friend, remember she said it was her friends B-day? So I also wanted to give something, such a fool I was. We looked all around, and there was nothing I wanted. If I were in the US, I could find a box of chocolates anywhere. My bro and I also stopped at the McDonald's down there, so I could get my bro a drink. After that it was time to go back. Now you can imagine the long journey back. I'm sure I got a cab back to the MRT station, and I got off at Chih San, as usual. And guess what? We walked back all the way home. But before we did I wanted to stop at Takashimaya, cause I wanted to find a gift for Cat's friend. So you can imagine the hauling of the water jug. My bro and I switched off a couple of times. A long walk. When we did get to Takashimaya. I told my bro to get dinner. He went and grabbed McDonald's. When he returned to look after the stuff, I went to look for the ideal gift I suppose. Nothing really. And I was hungry, tired, and sick, physically. I then gave up and we made our way back out. We walked, and I did it on an empty stomach. Later I decided to go to the Watsons. I walked around and found some chocolates. Finally I decided to get a box of Milka or something like that. Kwok told me he had given that too Mindy once before. And seeing it was late and that looked really nice I decided to get it. I wanted to get better I'm sure, but just couldn't find any and I was tired. You know even after I gave the chocolates to Cat, I still kept that Watsons bag, I want to document this entire episode. Anyways, it was around 7PM or 8PM when I retunred home more tired that ever. I showed my parents some of the cool stuff and the water I got, and I went up to my room to hide the rest of my stash. And some time later I'll tell you what happened. That's the end of this operation. Success I guess you could call it, but this entire thing I hoped to accomplish was a failure from the start no matter how hard I tried. That's what I feel now, and even today I think I dreamed of Cat, just a glance at her, nothing more. I wonder if I'll ever see her again.
