Ranjit Ram is Manager, Training and HRD with Tata Steel at Jamshedpur. He has worked with a multinational paint company Berger Paints later with Bombay Paints and then joined a Tata Organisation the erstwhile Indian Tube Company (ITC) and worked in the Human Resources Department from 1982 to 1991. He was transferred to Tata Steel Training Division in 1991. In his present position, he is responsible for conducting training programmes for senior executives and officers on Total Quality Management and Implementation of ISO 9000 Quality System Companywide. He has also been actively associated with the Total Quality effort in Tata Steel. Responsible for development of Human Resources through training on areas like Effective Communication, Time Management, Assertiveness Training, Quality Circles, Workplace Management etc. As a First class Commerce Graduate from St. Xavier College, Ranchi, a Master of Business Administration from Patna University, Post Graduate Diploma in Labour and Social Welfare with a LLB degree, a trained expert in Quality of the Indian Affiliate of the Juran Institute, USA, he is adept a facilitating Quality improvement and implementing Total Quality. He has also trained over 500 Senior Executives, over 1200 executives from Works, Mines and Colleries, Town, Medical and Marketing division of Tata Steel. Ranjit has also conducted training Programmes for executives and facilitated organizations like La Farge India, Stewarts and Lyods India, Tata Robins Fraser, Tata Korf, Tata Metaliks, Timken India, Tata Ryerson, Indian Oil Corporation, Tata Pigments, and many NGO�s in the country. Ranjit is widely traveled and is fluent in three languages. He has number of articles and eight books (for internal circulation) to his credit. He is a trained Lead Assessor on the ISO: 9000 Series of Quality Standards, from the Batalas of UK, and also a Lead Assessor ISO 9001: 2000 from Quality Management International a Division of Worldwide Quality Management Network. He has completed a 5�S Workplace Management programme from the Japan Management Association. Ranjit is also a Lead Assessor on ISO: 14000, EMS (Environmental Management System) from Det Norske Veritas (DNV) of NORWAY. He has recently been awarded a Diploma in Training and Development and HRD from Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) New Delhi which is not only recognized by Govt. of India and Ministry of Human Resources and Developmentbut also affiliated to the International Federation of Training and Development Organisation (IFDO) LONDON and USA and Asian Regional Training and Development Organisations (ARTDO) MANILA. An associate of the All India Management Association (AIMA) and an active member of the Jamshedpur Management Association. He is also an active member of Rotary International, Jamshedpur (West).
