This book is the outcome of my association with many organisation across the country on Total Quality Management related activities. The rapid growth of organisations world wide is taking place specially in a highly competitive environment. Organisations are producing better output whether products or services for their customers by practicing TQM. More and more companies, world wide are increasingly realising that the TQM experiment is not desirable but also inevitable for the performance standards of any organisation.
This book covers the basic concept and issues concerning the principles, philosophy, and the main pillars of TQM. An elaborate discussion on the Imperatives of Total Quality Management, Cost of Poor Quality Circles, Quality Improvement Tools and Quality Management Systems ISO 9000 has been discussed.

QUALITY CIRCLE HANDBOOK
This book is the outcome of my association with the Quality Circles activities in several department of Tata Steel. The rapid growth and successful functioning of Quality Circles (QC's) in Tata Steel during the current decade makes me quite optimistic about their future. More and more companies, world wide are increasingly realising that the QC experiment is not desirable but also inevitable for the performance standards of any organisation.
There are a large number of practicing managers within organisations who still have a feeling that Quality Circles are too difficult to understand or more difficult to practice. All those organisations that have become world leaders in the competitive market have done so by building people besides building qualityy into their products and services. Total Quality is people driven and heavily dependent on the participation and contribution of each member of an organisation. Without people being actively involved it is not possible for any organisation to achieve its objective.
The book covers the basic concept and issues concerning the formation, operation, monitoring and institutionalisation of QC's.
An elaborate discussion on the Quality Implementation Tools is a must for all the QC members, leaders and facilators. In order to bring objectivity in the identification, analysis and solution of problems, members are required to have a in - depth knowlwdge of these Q.I. Tools and of their scope and limitations. This book attempts to examine these in details.
