Dilli Dilwalon Ki........
The Year of 1995 is a Landmark year in my life;for my ealier attempt of "challo Dilli" in 1990,was completely a damp-squib,and finally in 95 only I was Able to traverse the 1132 K.m distance between Bokaro and Delhi. It was the hot june of 95 when just after returning from my cousins marriage I came to know that the C.B.S.E results were out and I have scored a decent marks(87% In PCM And 80% Aggregate).By that time the IIT-Jee & State Engg. results were also out(and Obviously I was selected in none)so the million dollar question pestering me at that time was--what to do next!!??There were two clear option left with me .The first was to just live in Bokaro and preparing for Engg. examination, the next year. The other, equally viable, option was to get admission in some college this year while keep preparing for Engg. simultaneously. Now,for a restless creature like me it's beyond imagination of going for the option of passing a year sitting in home.Anyway, after a couple of joint session's of informal discussions with my eternal friends,it was declared in a congress way that the best option for me was to pursue the second option. When Papa also given his aprroval for getting admission in delhi I was in cloud nine. And On 17th june I was at Bokaro Steel City Rly. Station,to board Neelanchal Exp.,Which at that time was the only train for New Delhi, from Bokaro. But,Like the Boy seen weeping It was my turn to to weep As soon as the sense of loosing the proximity of parents swept past me.The first day I landed in Delhi, I was busy calling home every next couple of hours. It's was only on the assurance of my mom that after taking admission I should come back home I heaved a sigh of relief.I filled form in almost all the prestigeous colleges of Delhi University. This, filling of Forms, had given me a lovely oppurtunity to wander across the north and South Campuss, which earlier I'd heard only. Then I had got the first experience of travelling in overcrowded bus.I surmised that even Bus makers should not have dreamt of their product carrying so much of load.A hot and humid Delhi and Bus is really not something one could dream together. . Finally,I had admitted myself in Hindu College,North Campuss,Delhi University, In Chemistry(Hons.).As I had got Admission in second List(first list cut-off being monstrously high as 92%)I was not able to get hostel accomodation though there was a informall asuarance that all needy student do get hostel in their second year. The first day,I was in bus,on way to college I was so nervous that I was wishing that My stop should never come. But, As it had to,my stop come and I was dragging myself towards Hindu College .But,with all my smartness and ingenuity I was able to keep seniors at bay that day. And, likewise I escaped the seniors eyes most of the time.Only a couple of time I'd got caught by some seniors and had a mild ragging.I heard from my fellow batchmates ,who had started living in hostel that in hotsel the ragging used to be bit tougher.I thanked God For making me the in the second list. But,to my surprise every guy of hostel had got itself ensconced nicely in 10/15 days or so to say.(Now,Having At the tail of my academic journey I could say with Claim that Hostel Life is the best). In Delhi I never missed an oppurtunity of partying.Going to Jaipur and, then to Gwalior to watch the world cup match in 1996 were all a part of the great fun I had in Delhi. The gals in campuss, what to say,so hot and ravving.I could only say-"No one can see just one".Strolling In Caunnaught Place ,Karol Bagh,Sarojini Nagar,South Ext. ,just to mention a few,in evening was great enjoyment. All this merriment, joy and enjoyment came to a grinding halt when I left Delhi to join Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology,in august 1996,almost one after I had come to New delhi. |
