| Stephanie is back at work. Nick asks her some questions regarding the recent rescue of Breanna Carwell. Steph claims to not know anything, but Nick believes otherwise. He seems worried that Steph is involved in some Government secret project. The gang head out to The Inferno. Josh finally catches a hint and asks Astrid to dance, the dance is cut short when Saul shows up. He's been staying low for the last few weeks, he lets the group know that he's discovered that the local occult world has been hoping. He's also interested in what the group can tell him about Agent Cobb. Dr Carwell visits Steph's home, where Breanna is staying. After a bit of small talk he asks the group straight out what they're up too. Without being to forthcoming, the group is able to assure him that Breanna is safer with them than she would be in his home. He even asks if there is anything he can get them Saul suggests a pool table - to which he writes a check for $5000. Breanna suspects that Cobb had made contact with him again. Later, at the archaeological dig, Josh discovers a secret door. Astrid and Leroy join him and they find a chamber. Calling over Professor Mills, the four of them explore and find a weird structure - some sort of framework. On campus, Leroy gets into an arguement with his Boxing coach and quits the team, stating simply, "I don't need you." As he was on a scholarship, this could effect his future at M.T.S.U. That night, Leroy is attacked and severly damaged. He is able to make it to Breanna and with some stolen equipment supplied by Josh he is repaired as good as new. When they replay his short term computer memory they are able to deduce that Cobb is the one behind the attack - and has the ability to become invisible at will! Stephanie calls Saul over. He's says that he has heard rumors that the government has invisible assassins. Getting ready to check out the scene of Leroy's attack, Astrid is able to hear Cobb hiding in some trees across the street. She secretly informs the rest of the group and they decide to set up a trap. While everyone else is setting things up, Josh gets antsy and rushes toward the treeline. Surprised by the charge Cobb makes enough noise for Josh to locate him, but he is able to take Josh down anyway. By this time however, the rest of the group see Josh apparently fighting empty air. Steph grabs a can of paint and hurls it in that general direction, Cobb isn't able to dodge all of it and gets a yellow splotch on his vest. Before he can remove it, Astrid nails him with a crossbow bolt and both Steph and Saul shoot him. Wounded but still alive (he was wearing armor), Cobb attempts to remove his painted armor and make good his getaway. However, Leroy reaches him and attacks. Losing control, Leroy is in the process of killing Cobb, when several armed and armored masked men come almost out of nowhere. Steph, still in uniform, demands to know what's going on. One of the men removes his mask and it's Riley Finn of The Initiative. He apologizes for any trouble caused by Cobb, especially to Breanna and says that they'll handle it from there. As his men gather up the body, Finn takes Saul aside and has a brief talk to him. In the distance police can be heard approaching, Detective Devry, several uniforms and the Captain arrive. Riley flashes a badge and talkes quietly to the Captain. While he's away, Devry checks up on Steph, she assures him that she's okay. When the Captain returns he orders everyone to leave - including Devry. He looks at Steph and says "Good work Branch. I'll be looking forward to reading your report." At which Riley clears his throat and very slightly shakes his head. "Or maybe not." is the Captains response as he climbs in his car and heads off. |
