| A little snippet of a letter from Angie... "Leilani has been a wonderful addition to our family. She gets along well with my older male "Kimo" (GSD mix) who has been a mission ready Search & Rescue K9 for 3 years now. He is approx 7 years old now. I believe that she has learned a great deal by observing him. I had started teaching Leilani the tug bringsel alert when she was very young. She now does perfect little (what we call runaways) search problems with her alert. She is fast and loves honey ham as her treat for working. Lani attended puppy obedience and was the largest one in the class. (Currently 60 lbs.) Plus she was ahead of them with already knowing how to sit and down. She is great off leash. She recently got spayed. Lani amazes me with her fascination for water, although she hasn't gone into our pool on her own. On our long hikes, she enjoys the creeks and scurrying up/down boulders. After wilderness/urban certification, K9s can certifiy is disciplines such as cadaver, water, avalanche etc. I have already imprinted her on cadaver. She surprised me by zeroing right into locating cadaver. Her only little quirk is that she gets fidgety at the Vet's office. This is only a minor thing that is not a problem for me. Overall she has exceeded my expectations in all areas. Thank you so much for raising her. I hope to have pictures for you in the near future. Possibly at Monday night's training we can take care of that. I think of your home, your beautiful dogs and goats, then smile! :-) I hope all is well with you. Take care."
