| Our goal is to breed goats that are easy to milk and produce a high volume of milk. Of course, we strive to breed to conformation standards as well! Our animals can endure the stress of a long lactation and kidding. So far in our very small breeding program we have been blessed! Our goats have won many 1st places when shown. This is quite an honor to be �flying� with the big breeders, as they have many goats to pick their show string from. In all honesty, with a herd as small as ours, it is an honor for us to be in the first four places. We could not brag about our wonderful Alpines without giving 98% credit to the work of Betty McCorcle with her "Rebel Winds" Herd & the "Quail-Heights" Herd developed by Marlene Fulper. Thank you both. We want to consistently breed does who milk 1-1/2 - 2 gallons per day by their second freshening. So far all the does we have freshened have met that criterion! Of course, one cannot expect a doe to produce such a large supply of milk without the proper feed. Our girls are provided the very best alfalfa hay and grain plus other additions as needed - such as vitamins, sunflower seeds, bran, and whole grains.
