Standing in the master bedroom looking down the hall toward the kitchen and living room (den... family room, whatever you call the room in your house with the stereo, comfy sofa and the boob tube). Kris is poking her cute little head out of the cubby that accesses the bathroom and the stairs.

How cool is this?!? You burn wood in the bottom part. The chimney goes straight out the back and then bends 90 degrees up the side of the house. The pipe you see in the picture is a vent from the hot box (the big welded in box above the part with the door) up into the ceiling. The vent runs back through the house to the bedrooms. Can you see the robot face in the door?

This is the kitchen seen from the living room. I like having it be all one big room like that so one person can cook or do dishes and not feel like being banished from the fun part of the house. If you look down to the right, that is the hallway from the other side of the house. The picture was taken while the previous owner was packing up.

Hey, let's go upstairs and check it out. The batteries live under that landing but are reached via the outside closet.

The attic from the top of the stairs (standing underneath the skylight). I really like that big window at the far end. We might hang a pulley just outside and run a clothes line from just under the roof to somewhere outside.

The other end of the attic looking into the top of the stairs and the laundry room. The base coat is waiting our decision on what color to paint (Kris is thinking light blue with little puffy clouds). Also notice that the two skylights are still needing to be installed. The picture doesn't really show that the ceiling isn't as close as you might think. I can step down the middle two feet or so without bumping my head. You can see where the vent runs from the stove along the floor on the left.
