BUSH. On the field, Jenkins
flat outplayed Bush last year. The difference in the preseason was like night and day. I didn't see anything from Bush last season. Do you think Bush now could get $18mil over 7 years from anyone? Hardly. Bush is a high-priced hope. Let's hope. But I will add that it is absolutely brilliant to squeeze a coupla picks out of a guy we were simply letting go. The Rams know their wampum! JENKINS. I'll say another thing about Billy Jenkins. Did you know he called the defensive swithch that resulted in "THE Tackle" by Mike Jones? Yes, he did. I didn't think he was involved in that. I assumed Lyle made defensive calls. But, Mike Jones credited Billy with calling a switch just before the snap. COADY. We ain't got no centerfielders. Jenkins couldn't get to the sidelines to help on WR's. Devin Bush couldn't do it. And, surprise, our All-Pro Keith Lyle couldn't either. (he's only "All-Pro because he catches what he touches; he gets numbers, i.e. ints.) That's why the draft pick we all hated, Rich Coady, looms large right now. Coady looks the part. He's got range. Not super duper range, but good range. And he's got size. And he's got perhaps the most unappreciated thing in the sport. Something never "scouted". Great hand strength! The Mad Stork had it. Reggie White had it. Brad Van Pelt had it. Howie Long had it. The two great safeties on the undefeated Dolphins had it. Old Hacker still has it. In fact, you almost need some of it to survive along the LOS. Plus, I can vouch based on a minute and a half meeting with the Coady "clan" at the Super Bowl that this guy is top-shelf character.
