Glad to see the Rams decided the O-Line might be worth > keeping together. Whew!!

No offensive line, no wins, simple as that.

The most important players on offense are the linemen.

I've heard all the theories about saving money for the big boys next offseason, but those big boys (eg. Bruce and Warner) are going to have miserable 2000 seasons if there is no blocking on the offensive line. Who's going to provide the protection for Warner while he's searching Bruce out down field? You can't have passing game if your QB is lying on the ground. It's a simple as that.

You just don't go out and pluck outstanding offensive linemen out of trees. They don't come a dime a dozen. If they did then the 49ers wouldn't have had the problems on offense they did this past season.

Miller had his bumps in the road but for the most part was decent at guard next to Orlando Pace and in my opinion above average in his play at right tackle during the 99 season. In fact in more then a few games I found his play to be exceptional. Everyone focuses on the play that Bruce caught the game winning touchdown on and say oh my Kearse bull-rushed Miller. However what happened the rest of the game? Miller shut Kearse out---that's what happened. If you think that just any tackle can shut out Kearse then you are wrong, pure and simple.

But now the Rams keep Tucker after letting Miller go...and the contract Miami offered him was not that far out of line in my  opinion. Keeping  continuity with the O-line is important and Tucker is a young stud and knows the system.

The Rams have groomed Tucker for three years now and IMO he's ready to step in and do the job. Tucker replaced Orlando Pace in the game against NY when the refs threw Pace out of the game and Tucker did not allow a sack or a pressure all day. So, I wouldn't just pooh pooh away Tucker's ability.

About the Miami offer. The Rams should have seen this coming and didn't. Bad judgement and a lack of foresight has caught the Rams front office with its pants down...and now they will have to pay more for Tucker.

But the Rams did match Miami's offer to Ryan Tucker...meaning they do want to have a winning team next season.

Now I will feel better about this whole off season. It appears that maybe the Rams are serious about repeating. I like what these signings tell us as fans.

Congratulations to all Rams fans!
