~ E-ZINE LINKS ~

I was driving around yesterday [Feb 9] here in Portland Oregon and realized that I have now entered the worst of dead sports zones---the time of the year when the one-sport town you live in can talk about only one thing---in my case, the Blazers.

Ack.

So the topic yesterday was... you guessed it, Blazers basketball.

Pathetic. These people should know that you don't stop talking about the Rams until at least mid-March, take a few weeks off for March madness, and then go straight to baseball.

So I set them straight.

They were talking about who should be the Blazers team MVP this year---Rasheed Wallace, who is the only Blazer going to the All-Star Game, or Scottie Pippen.

I saw my chance.

I called, told them I wanted to talk about Pippen/Wallace, then when I had my chance, took it. I let them know that Pippen deserved the honor even though Wallace is getting the external recognition...and than asked, why don't you let me share a little story?

And I got to talk about the Rams!

I told them how Faulk was the Team MVP because of the leadership he showed on the field and in the locker room and the way he expanded the weaponry  the Rams had....I went on for a few minutes, talking about the Rams. I got the host to say "Great analogy!"  Of course, I had no idea what I was talking about when it came to the Blazers....

So. Anyone out there know who Scottie Pippen is?
