I think breaking it down to
percentages gives a good picture. Wide Receiver----- Bruce---Proehl----Holt-----Hakim Attempts----------------120------49--------96---------56 Completions-----------64%-----67%-----54%------64% Incompletes------------35%-----32%-----45%------35% Type of Incomplete-- Drops--------------------4%-------4%-------7%-------14% Hakim has dropped twice as many passes as the Rookie, but he has the same completion percentation as one of the best receivers in the game. My conclusion is that Hakim knows how to get open---had he caught 4 of the 8 passes he dropped, he would have had a 71% completion ratio. Still, I think it's easier to coach a pro to reduce the number of drops than to coach him to run routes effectively. Proehl's numbers are effecient as well. Damn...the RAMS have a solid receiving corps and an accruate qb. This was a great season. |
