THEY ARE GAINING NOT LOSING GROUND. The Rams have lost 4-5 players  already, but many of us forget that the Rams are also gaining 3 players that they really did not have this year.

Starters Lost: Miller and Grutt

Backups Lost: Williams, Clemons and Tucker

Players gained: Green, Little and Todd Fro.

The loss of our 2nd and 3rd OTs hurt, but overall, I would say we are actually gaining more talent than what we are losing.

Green and Little alone are worth far more than the losses combined IMO. If we get a RT, we are actually in better position next than this year and we did not use any of our cap. Thus, we are in even better position to sign alot of our star players next year (Carter, Warner, Bruce, Fletch, Hakim, McCleon, etc).

The more I think about it, the more I believe that Armey is doing a great job of keeping this team together and actually probably improving it.  I like what the Rams are doing. Other teams are wasting precious cap space while the Rams are creating cap space and still keeping all their real stars and superstars. Teams that are spending foolishly will be in serious trouble in the next couple years.

PLEASE CONTINUE THE INSANITY. Teams are panicking and severely overpaying players, especially Ram backups (Williams 1.5/year, Clemons 1.5/year, Tucker 2.67 mil/year). Not to mention the fact that Miller is now one of the 10 highest paid O-linemen in football. IMO all of that is just insane.

The more teams overpay for marginal players, the more it helps us. As long as the Rams do not overpay for these players, the better off we will be for the future.

It is one thing to open the check book in order to win and another to be stupid.

RIGHT TACKLE. Look at Tucker's offer, for example. It is 2.67 mil/year. That is  for a career backup with 0 starts in 3 years.

No matter what, he is guarenteed 4.5 million in the first year and 5.5 mil for the first 2 years at the minimum. IMO the Rams will not and should not match that offer.

They will have to draft a OT in the 1st or 2nd round now (most likely 1st) and/or hope that Todd Fro comes through. This could be a problem at the beginning of next year and with the strong LDEs that we play next year (Sinclair-SEA, Strahan-NYG and Ahanatou-TB). Luckily, however, we do not have to face that many quality LDEs, which will help tremdously.

Besides. We get an extra 4th round pick this year for Tucker. Who knows, we might get another Germaine, Hakim or Williams with that pick. (PS, Miller was a 5th round pick, Tucker a 4th and Williams, Grutt and Clemons were undrafted). So we have a good chance of getting a better player than any we lost with that 4th round pick from Miami.

Don't get me wrong. I would love to have Tucker at RT, but NOT at that price. He is NOT worth 2.67 mil/year. That is a joke. I would give him 1-1.5 mil/year, but that is it---until he can prove that he can play at a high level for a better part of a year. Except for 2/3 of a half, we really have not seen him play that much OT in a meaningful game.

Mistakes like this one---signing an unproven player to a 2.67 mil/year contract---are what causes the demise of championship teams. Look at Dallas giving huge contracts to Tolbert and Haley and then not seeing the play let alone produce. The signing bonuses from those contracts killed the Cowboys for a couple years.
