MIKE MARTZ. I would say that he is more like Chuck Knox than anyone else I can come up with right now......I don't know that I would call him a Type A but he is a lot closer to it than people give him credit for.

He is also going to surprise a lot of people in terms of his relationship with the media he is a lot more outgoing and charming than a lot think him.

THE OL. I think that Andy is actually a superior run blocker to what we had at either left tackle or center. Grutt. seemed to develop very well last year at switches and picking up stunts but the running game never looked better than when McCollum was filling in for Nutten. In addition,  just on the athletic end of things, Tucker is better than Miller. But Freddy was a true disciple of Jim Hanifan and really took to his teachings on pass blocking.

The Rams came out way ahead in this switch in terms of cap hits and they set themselves up for continuity on the line for three years....hard to argue with that.

THE RFAs & MINIMUM TENDERS. As I understand and hear things they have learned their lesson and will look harder at their one year tenders next time. I thought they made a mistake on Dexter as well but have not heard of anyone going after him.

CAP STRATEGY. The Rams have pretty much committed to not turning salary into bonus dollars...that is they will renegotiate but only where it adds years to a contract and will not tear up the existing contract. For example they will not as I understand it take someone like Trent Green and turn his salary into another bonus payment such as the 49ers became infamous for doing.

In the case of Kevin Carter they will propose to add years and pay him a very hefty bonus but this year's salary would not change.

AGNEW'S CONTRACT. It was redone about half way through last year and he received an extension and a small signing bonus in return for re-doing the last two years ofhis contract. It actually reduced his cap number for last year and they took that money and gave it to Warner.

BIG WILLIE. Willie Jones melted down last year and had a nervous breakdown....I hear he is still a basket case.
