I heard Howard interviewed on a NoCal radio station last week.

He said the Super Bowl was a *Great Game*....and he credited Vermeil for maintaining the Rams on an even keel throughout the season---avoiding highs and lows.

I think this is a great point, actually. The Rams came to play every week, focused and hungry, even when it was all wrapped up. I've never seen them so consistent as they were this season.

He said Martz is a question mark, reiterating what we all know. It remains to be seen how he will handle it all and how players will respond. He added that he was impressed with Martz at his press conference, noting that Martz was much more at ease in this emotional situation than he had been at earlier press conferences during the season. It seems that Martz is getting better at handling the PR side of coaching.

On the plus side, he pointed to the youth of the Rams, and the OL in particular. Timmerman is the senior guy even with only 5 years of experience.

(That is good, btw. The running game will get better simply by the improved play of the OL. Remember, Pace is the only guy who was starting in the same position on that line from 98).

Howard was asked about copycats in the league. He said, "Good luck." Basically, the system isn't anything new (Coryell)---the difference is talent. So, if someone hopes to copy the Rams, well, um, go ahead and try!
