It seems Amp Lee has been
cut. The Amp Lee story originally came from Howard Balzer in a post he sent to the Rampagers listserve. Here is Howard's message from yesterday (Feb 25): ************ News flash (just found this out) The Rams today terminated the contract of RB Amp Lee. The contracts of Ryan Tucker and Andy McCollum were officially reported to the league today. I don't think they needed the cap space to sign Tucker, but must have figured Lee wasn't in the plans anyway. Howard Balzer ************* The story has not yet been confirmed. Lee has a cap number of more than $1 mil. IMO, They probably tried to trade him , but: * Nobody wants to take on a contract like that * Other teams know that he will eventually be cut anyway, so why give up a draft pick. The Rams would be doing Lee a favor by cutting him now because he may be able to catch on with another team before all the cap money is used up. |
