NO DROP OFF. The Rams will not take any team "lightly". Even though they showed a little less fire when playing the Saints [last Sunday], they still are able to crank it up long enough to win easily.

ON WINNING, THE SCHEDULE, ETC. Only something like 8 out of 58 teams with last place schedules have gone to first place the next year. My guess is that none have had a total record turn around like the Rams.

Usually, a team improves slowly from one season to the next.

+4 - a good turnaround. Takes a 4-10 team to 8-8 and respectability. Most bad teams aim for a +4 the next year to show improvement and save coaches jobs.

+5  - a very good turnaround. Generally places you in the playoff hunt, or at 8-8 as a minimum.

+6 - a VERY good turnaround. Not done very often, maybe once every 3 or 4 years.

+7 - Getting into rare air here. The number of teams (since the 16 game schedule) improving by this  amount can be counted on one hand.

+8 - Only one team I can remember doing this. The Jets a few years ago went from 1-15 to 9-7, an 8 game turn around. Most said the Tuna did something that would never happen again, because getting a plus 8 means having a really lousy team the year before.

Now +9 (according to my very humble memory banks) this has NEVER been done in the modern age (post merger).

For the mathematically challenged----3 games left, a possible 14-2 record,  a turn around of +10 !!!!!!

Never, NEVER has that been done in the modern era (and I would guess never in the old days either , since they played fewer games). It would be a record almost impossible to beat. The odds of a 3-13 team going to 14-2 would  be fantastic, that is what it would take to beat this record.

So I think the Ram know this. They realize this is the kind of thing where legends are made, records set, and glory is given.

1 game at a time. Two home, one away. I say they sweep the three, and go on to playoff success by  staying at home.

THE RAMS WILL NOT LET DOWN AGAINST NYG.

* They want to win all the home games this year to start a good streak.

* They want home field advantage through out the playoffs. This game will guarentee that.

* This will be the first home game since they locked up a playoff spot. Think the fans won't be jacked up?

* This will be a game against a team with a winning record, something that all the nay sayers are harping on.

* They beat a heavily favored Giants team at home 3 years ago. They will want to repeat that performance.

* The will roll out the "A" game on offense. No holding back like the last few weeks. No settling for FG's by running on 3rd and 8.

* Collins has had some really bad games against the Rams, and some OK ones. Which person will show up?

* Since NY is the "media capital" along with LA, this game will be seen in the 2 largest markets. Time for the Rams to make a solid statement about the playoffs.

* The Redskins rolled up 50 points on the Giants (using the same offense). Guess what---the Rams run the offense better than the Skins, and have a much better D.

* The Rams are new to all this. They are not going to the playoffs for the third year in a row. This is the first time for 90% of the team. They are HUNGRY for wins, they want all the bad memories erased. They want to prove to everyone, and maybe to themselves,  that they really belong.

* DV will conjure up some of his old Eagles/Giants games to remind them about winning. Come to think of it, DV probably HATES the Giants as much as any other team in the NFL. Now that will be inspiration!
