I thought Warner showed *exceptional* touch on a ton of throws today. The TD tosses to Holt and Williams, for example. The one-on-one fade to Faulk down the sideline, for another.

I think the balls over the middle bobbled by Faulk? I tell you what . . . the *last* place anyone wants to see Kurt Warner learn touch is on those. I love Faulk, but he has to make those catches---and Kurt Warner has to zip those balls in. There's simply no room for error on balls thrown in the seam. Float one there---or touch one---and somebody's liable to get hurt . . . bad. Or, float one there and someone goes the distance with an INT . . . the same way Raw Lewis almost did todaywhen Kurt took a little off one to Proehl down at the goalline.

I thought Warner did a superior job with the delivery and speed of most all his passes. My only criticism of his throwing, in fact, was that he had probably five balls behind receivers . . . trying to be too perfect.

Not only that, the kid did a great job of fighting out of those second and third and longs today. He didn't lose his head and panic. Just hung in there and was happy to work under coverage. In all actuality, it was very reminiscint of Warner's stint in the much-laughed-about Arena League . . . where the field fits as tight as a turtle neck around a QB's neck, and he's forced to really make good throws in close quarters.

Also, Warner did a tremendous job of moving in the pocket when things would break down. I know it's only one game . . . but *THAT* was a glimpse of what I was talking about all last year with Banks. A QB doesn't need to be Donovan McNabb to be good in the pocket. A step-up in the pocket here . . . a slide-step there . . . a little movement laterally . . . and a play stays alive.
